THE DRAGON AND THE FLAG
Y DDRAIG GOCH- the Red Dragon on a Green and White background has been the offical flag for Wales since 1959.
the later Roman calvary was the primary defending force against the Saxons towards the end of the occupation. they are believed to have used a dragon emblem on thier Pennants and Standards during thier occupation of Britain. Draco standards were used between 250 and 400AD, and weretypically carried by Calvery Units.
they consisted of a hollow beasts head made from metal with a windsock-style cloth descending from rear of the head. Frquently a whistle was attached to the mouth ot Staff of the Standard to sound as it was moved around either by a Standard Bearer on foot or a Mounted Soldier.
the Standards were used in a number of forms after the Romans left Britain. the Welsh Kings of Aberffraw used the emblem to symbolise their authority in the early fifth century. The name Pendragon, or Pen Ddraig has its origins in these battle standards.

T March 31 BACK TO WORK MONDAYWill i go back to work Monday??
Some days i think, i will give my job up. It scares me and also makes me sad, to know that some human hearts can go so low that they hurt children,wether by action or words " abuse comes in many forms ". I witness this every day, some times after a bad session the boss will say three things
" that was heavy " " are you ok " " leave it at work "
Why do i stay in this job - is it for the money - NOPE
is it for the glory - NOPE there is no glory in being an adult and listening to a child telling of an adult's cruelty
So why go back to this job - ( because i was soo close to finishing the job ) this is why i stay ! ! !
The children aged 6yrs to 16 yrs old, have brought such beauty to my life, out of their own darkness and pain they give to me, a reason not to give up on life ! !
When ive worked with a child, who doesnt trust me, then one day the dreaded sentence " ive got a secret " then the sentence " i hate myself cos im rubbish " Then together we begin to untangle the abuse, the cruelty, the negitive words, the put downs, the unloved words spoken into that child's life
Then the day comes and the child smiles for the first time, then laughs, then the child talks in a positive way abut themself, beginning to understand that they are important, that they have something to give to other's, that there is a reason for them to live.
When i walk around the schools and they call me and tell me that they are ok.
When i look at my fridge covered in drawings off the younger ones.
When the head teacher tells us, there's a difference in the childs behaviour, that they are growing in confidence and self esteem..
Yep sometimes i really hate my job but ----
These kids have touched my life in a mighty way and has given me far more than i have given to them ! ! !
These kids are OVERCOMERS in a sometimes dark world ! ! !
I wish i could write a poem and print it off and give a poem to every child i work with, but im not gifted, dont have talent, but i love them and thank them for being in my life, that i consider them to be a blessing to me, indeed each child is a star that i treasure in my heart ! !
I dedicate this blog to every one of the 50 children i work with, because of them i have decided to try and say something positive and encouraging to some one each day of my life, because " abuse comes in many forms "
So yep im back in work monday ! !
Cant write a poem for you kids but i pray that the Lord will look after you , maybe send one of his angels to every one of you ! ! !
